I am a grandma now, but when my little girls were toddlers the afternoon naps ended around 16 mos, or a bit later because I was finding that when they napped in the afternoon they wouldn't be ready to go to sleep at nite until 9pm and I really valued my evening time. Sometimes it was difficult to keep them awake thru the evening meal, but a gentle face wipe with a cool cloth helped them to make it thru dinner. Then I would begin the bedtime routine between 6-630.
